Shenzhen, 29 September 2024-- At the founding meeting of Shenzhen University of Technology, Mayor Qin Weizhong attended the event and delivered a speech. On behalf of the municipal Party committee and the municipal government, Qin Weizhong extended warm congratulations on the establishment of Shenzhen University of technology, and expressed heartfelt thanks to the Ministry of education, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the provincial Party committee, the provincial government and all walks of life for their long-term concern and support for the development of education in Shenzhen.
At the meeting, Feng Wei, deputy director of the Provincial Department of Education, read out the approval documents of the Ministry of Education, Fan Jianping, president of Shenzhen University of Technology, Mao Junfa, president of Shenzhen University of Technology, Teng Jinguang, president of Hong Kong University of Technology, Yan Ning, president of Shenzhen Academy of Medical Sciences, and Deng Weidong, general manager of China Merchants Innovation Technology Group, delivered speeches respectively, and Feng Wei, deputy director of the Provincial Department of Education, read out the approval documents of the Ministry of Education, fan Jianping, President of Shenzhen University of Technology, Mao Junfa, President of Shenzhen University, Teng Jinguang, President of Hong Kong University of Technology, Yan Ning, President of Shenzhen Academy of Medical Sciences, and Deng Weidong, General Manager of China Merchants Innovation Technology Group delivered speeches respectively. Huang Mingzhong, Deputy Secretary General of the provincial government, Chen Qing, Gao Zimin and Wu Yihuan, Secretary General of the municipal government Lu Wenpeng, responsible comrades of the provincial education department and the Department of science and technology, responsible comrades from relevant universities, research institutions and enterprises across the country, as well as the leading group of Shenzhen University of science and technology, and representatives of teachers and students, more than 600 people participated in the activity.
Mr. Han Zhi, Chairman of Shenzhen Asia Pacific Holding Group Co., Ltd., as the founder of the Education Foundation and the honorary director of the Education Foundation of Shenzhen University of Technology, attended the conference and delivered a speech. At the conference, Mr. Han Zhi said, "As an honorary director, I will be committed to promoting cooperation between Shenzhen University of Technology and all sectors of society, providing practical opportunities for students and sending fresh blood to enterprises. I also hope that through our donation, we can inspire more enterprises and all sectors of society to pay attention to and support higher education."
Fan Jianping, president of Shenzhen University of Technology, pointed out that social donations not only provide valuable financial support for the construction of the school, but also lay a solid foundation for the long-term development of the school.
The establishment of Shenzhen University of Technology is another milestone in the development of higher education in Shenzhen. The inaugural meeting raised a total of 0.26 billion yuan in donations. Shenzhen University of Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences is built in Guangming New District, Shenzhen, a national science base. The project of the International Exchange Center of Shenzhen University of Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences is jointly designed by three design institutes, including China Architectural Design and Research Institute and China Architectural Northeast Design Institute. The designed building is of new Chinese style. Due to the demand of Party A, Hanzhi Art Design Center under Asia Pacific Holding Group has carried out a second upgrade design on the original scheme.
